3 Steps to Beautify and Brighten Your Space Before Spring
We made it through those cold months and are approaching warmer weather- springtime! Many people are very excited for these upcoming months because that means, outdoor activities, outdoor living, and storing away those winter clothes. But with all that comes some dusting off and cleaning up before enjoying the very needed outdoor life again. Our minds and spirit might be ready, but our houses might not be. Here are a few tips to get our house springtime ready.
Step #1: Declutter, Determine What You Love, Then Donate the Rest
Are you ready to pull out that cute little summer dress you have in the back corner of your closet? If you answered yes, let’s make room for it in the front of your closet. To do that, go through your winter clothes and see what you wore this winter season and what you did not wear. The clothes you did not wear throughout winter are great things to donate for others to enjoy. After sorting through, bring all your spring and summer clothes to the front of your closet and the winter items to the back, for next year's use. This can be done with all your home decor and shoes as well. Keep the items you used, and donate the items you did not use. This will help you and your house get ready for those nice, warm, outdoor days.
Step #2: List All Areas in Need of Attention, Then Clean Each Location
When looking out of your window in the morning with a cup of hot coffee in hand, you might notice how dirty your windows are. After a long winter season, our windows need some sprucing up. Make time to clean windows inside and out, along with hosing down the patio and porch. If you had your outdoor furniture outside during the cold season, make sure you wipe over them to get them summertime ready. If you stored your outdoor furniture indoors, then this is a great time to pull them out and dust them off. Buying a few fun pillows for your outdoor furniture and flowers for your patio flowerpots will get your springtime feelings rolling.
Step #3: Store Last Season's Decor, Then Style with Spring Inspired Pieces
Spring is not only outdoors but also indoors. To get ready for spring, make sure all your winter decor is cleaned up into labeled designated bins and/or storage boxes, for easy finding next year. Take out your light-colored tablecloths, decorative pillows, and kitchen towels. Spruce your home up with light-colored and fun decor to get the spring vibes flowing. For your bed, find some lighter-colored bedding and thinner sheets for those warmer nights. Lastly, add some seasonal springtime flowers to your kitchen and dining room for a spring feel.
Springtime is here! After doing that spring clean-up and getting your house ready for the warmer season, it is time to enjoy. Your outdoor living space is ready for some nice outdoor grilling or lounging, along with your indoor spring vibes. With the tips and tricks provided, you feel ready for those warmer spring days to come.
